We’re hiring Front of House and Heart of House positions for our upcoming opening in the historic Henry Weinhard Brewery Blocks. Hearth & Vine celebrates the best of Pacific Northwest products and purveyors through New American cooking and a regional wine and beer program.

Set within the historic Henry Weinhard Brewery building in Portland’s Pearl District, Hearth & Vine is a restaurant, bar, and gathering place offering New American cuisine alongside a broad selection of Pacific Northwest wines and beers. The menu is guided by seasonality and classic technique, while the bar features 50 wines by the glass, 20 of which are available on tap, plus a thoughtfully curated roster of regional draft beers. For private gatherings, HW's Malt & Hop House is a dedicated event space, providing a distinct setting for celebrations, meetings, and hosted experiences.

Summary:

The dishwasher oversees dishwashing operations and kitchen organization, ensuring efficient cleaning of all kitchen dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment. Your role is vital to the smooth operation of the restaurant, as you support both the front and heart-of-house teams by maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe workspace.

Expectations:

  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas including dish station and walk in
  • Ensuring proper FIFO practices in walk in and organization
  • Trash and recycling removal as necessary
  • Washing of dishes and kitchen equipment as necessary
  • Maintaining areas, as needed, in the dining room that require cleaning

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year as a porter or dishwasher; high-volume restaurant experience a plus
  • Must possess exceptional work ethic
  • Ability to work in an organized and professional manner
  • Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
  • Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback
  • Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in a standing/walking position for long periods of time
  • Command of the English language
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Schedule & Availability:

  • The restaurant will operate Wednesday through Sunday during the initial months, with hours and days subject to change based on business needs. Open availability is required.

Pay & Benefits Summary:

  • $16.30 - $17.50 Hourly + Tips
  • Eligible to participate in company subsidized medical/dental/vision/life insurance within 30 days following new hire status if full time 30+ hours per week
  • Eligibility to participate in employee funded supplemental benefit programs, i.e., disability, within 30 days following new hire status if full time 30+ hours per week
  • Eligible to participate in 401(k) plan after six months of service and 1000 hours worked. The company will match 50% of employee contribution up to 4% of the employee's annual pay.
  • Eligible for overtime pay if in an hourly/non-exempt position
  • Eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time as well as State Paid Family Medical Leave
