What are Weekend Automotive CAD professionals?

Weekend Automotive CAD professionals are individuals who work part-time, typically on weekends, using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create, modify, or analyze automotive designs and components. They support full-time engineering teams by assisting with drafting technical drawings, 3D modeling, and updating design documentation. This role is ideal for students, freelancers, or those looking to gain experience in automotive design while balancing other commitments. Weekend Automotive CAD professionals must have solid CAD skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with automotive design standards.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Automotive CAD, and why are they important?
