Job description

The ideal candidate will be located in the Chicago, IL area and able to work onsite.
Role Description:
The Collaboration Systems Technician is responsible for supporting and enhancing collaboration and audio-visual technology across corporate showrooms and collaboration spaces located in major metropolitan areas. This highly visible, customer-facing role ensures that showroom environments, conference rooms, and executive event spaces deliver a seamless and high-quality technology experience for members, customers, and partners.
The technician will provide primary support for audio-visual and collaboration systems, while also assisting with end-user devices, basic network connectivity, and other workplace technologies. This position partners closely with internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to support meetings, events, technology deployments, and showroom buildouts.
This role requires a self-motivated, service-oriented individual who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel (up to 85%) to support showrooms, projects, and events across the US.
Responsibilities:
Audio-Visual & Collaboration Technology Support
  • Provide primary support for audio-visual and collaboration systems across corporate showrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot A/V and collaboration equipment including displays, cameras, conferencing systems, control systems, computers, and presentation technologies
  • Serve as support contact for conference room A/V technology and coordinate break/fix activities with internal teams and external vendors
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades, preventative maintenance, and lifecycle refresh activities
  • Perform physical installation of equipment including mounting displays, running cabling, and staging technology
  • Monitor our portfolio of hardware, industry trends, and changes in our IT infrastructure environment to ensure reliable service. Participate in the procurement of new hardware, the deployment of new software, and strategic conversations about IT infrastructure affecting conference room technologies.

Event & Meeting Support
  • Coordinate and facilitate technology support for internal communication events such as town halls, Member Meetings, executive briefings, and leadership meetings
  • Ensure successful technology outcomes for external-facing events including dealer events, sales summits, trade shows, supplier summits, and various training sessions
  • Provide on-site or remote support for meetings, presentations, and customer engagements to ensure a high-quality experience

Project Management & Technology Deployments
  • Support project management efforts related to A/V and technology buildouts for new facilities, showroom openings, and renovations
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of collaboration and A/V technology deployments
  • Draft scopes of work (SOW), documentation, and technical requirements for vendor engagements
  • Coordinate with facilities, construction teams, IT, and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, and turnover of newly deployed systems

End User & Infrastructure Support
  • Provide hands-on support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and collaboration tools
  • Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues within showroom and meeting environments
  • Support Microsoft 365 collaboration tools including Teams and conferencing technologies
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong relationships with end users and business stakeholders

Vendor & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers and service providers related to workplace technologies
  • Coordinate vendor scheduling, service calls, and ongoing support needs
  • Partner with other departments of IT to troubleshoot teleconferencing issues related to networking, cybersecurity, and End-User Support
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders during technology deployments, facility buildouts, showroom installs, and conference room upgrades.

  • Experience with core IT tools such as Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, endpoint management, and collaboration platforms, along with supporting technology deployments, refreshes, and buildouts.
