Job description

Propak Systems Ltd. is an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking Apprentice Structural Welders to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB.

This offer is specific to our weekend shift team (Friday-Monday) who are provided with excellent premiums for the weekend shift. Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements.
  • Read all types of welding symbols
  • Welding of all types of structural materials using FCAW and SMAW processes
  • Have valid CWB certification In FCAW to a least G3 Vertical position prior to start date
  • Fabricating skids supports platforms ladder stairs handrails etc.
  • Cutting gouging grinding of all types of structural materials
  • Setup operating and cleanup of equipment Saw Ironworker Welding Machine FCAW feeder etc.
  • Listen and be receptive to instructions and work to achieve set goals, action plans and timelines for project completion.
  • Apply knowledge and skills learned from coaches and mentors to ensure completion of the apprenticeship program.

Qualifications:

  • Be eligible for registration as a registered apprentice; or
  • Be a registered apprentice.
  • Motivated and willing to learn.
  • As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
