Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) - ICE Detention Health Services | Jena, Louisiana
Evening Shift - 3pm-11pm

Overview
MDPerm is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to provide clinical imaging services at a secure medical facility serving individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The Radiologic Technologist performs conventional radiography for diagnostic and screening purposes across a diverse patient population, including adults and children.
This role focuses heavily on chest radiography for tuberculosis screening, with additional imaging as clinically indicated. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a structured, secure healthcare environment.

Monday - Friday
3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
No weekends

Clinical Responsibilities
The Radiologic Technologist will:
  • Perform conventional radiographic imaging of head, trunk, and extremities
  • Conduct TB screening chest radiography
  • Adapt positioning techniques to meet patient needs
  • Ensure diagnostic image quality and artifact-free films
  • Notify providers of urgent or significant findings
  • Maintain radiation safety standards and dosimeter compliance
  • Operate and maintain X-ray equipment quality control
  • Log and document imaging accurately
  • Maintain proficiency with electronic health records
  • Support emergency response when needed
  • Perform expanded duties when trained, including:
    • Vital signs collection
    • CLIA-waived testing (rapid strep, influenza, urinalysis, pregnancy)
  • Provide patient education regarding intake and care access
  • Scan and verify medical documentation
  • Participate in safety and quality programs
  • Attend required meetings and training

All services are delivered within Scope of Practice and in compliance with ICE/IHSC policies, HIPAA, and accreditation standards.
Education & Experience
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technologist program
  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience
  • Detention/correctional healthcare experience preferred

Licensure & Certifications
  • Current ARRT certification (required)
  • State license
  • Current BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, or ASHI)
