Job description

MRI Technologist Travel Assignment

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a travel assignment in Charlotte, NC. The MRI Technologist will prepare and position patients, operate MRI scanners, administer contrast per protocol, evaluate image quality, and coordinate with radiologists and other clinical staff to support imaging needs across ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient settings. The role requires adherence to MRI safety, infection control, and radiation safety practices while providing patient care and documenting procedures in the electronic medical record.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current ARRT (R) or NMTCB, ARRT (MR) or ARMRI certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of MRI experience required. First-time travelers will be considered.
  • Experience with EPIC EMR, Epic Radiant RIS, and Philips iSite PACS preferred.
  • Experience performing inpatient, ED, observation, and outpatient MRI exams, including cases requiring anesthesia.
  • Ability to prepare and administer IV contrast according to departmental protocols and document in MAR.
  • Familiarity with MRI safety requirements, infection control, and handling patients with medical devices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hospital radiology department with high inpatient census and varied case mix preferred.
  • Previous use of GE 1.5T SIGNA Artist or similar MRI systems preferred.
  • Experience working with radiology nursing and interventional radiology support preferred.

Assignment Details

  • Shift days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday.
  • Shift hours: Tuesday 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM; Thursday 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM; Monday 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM.
  • Weekend rotation required.
  • Travelers are expected to work approximately 75% of holidays.
  • Orientation: 1 day administrative onboarding plus 2 days to 1 week departmental orientation as needed.
  • Onsite support available from Guest Services/Transport and tech assistants on overnight shifts.

As a health professional with Jackson HealthPros, you will support high-quality imaging services in a hospital setting that provides X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine. You will contribute to care at a hospital with approximately 244 licensed beds, a 16-bed ED, and an ICU and progressive care capacity, supporting a department that averages about 23 studies per day and serves a broad patient mix.
