Position Overview:
Join our team as a Veterinary Assistant who supports the veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and clerical and administrative work. They deliver quality care for all patients and provide exceptional service.
Animal Medical Center of Cumming in Cumming, Georgia, we are a team of dedicated animal care professionals operating a full-service veterinary hospital with a large boarding facility. We are hard-working, confident, and enthusiastic about our profession and provide exceptional medicine, boarding, and playtime to our community. Veterinary Assistant responsibilities are:
  • Performing and assisting with vaccinations
  • Laboratory sample collection
  • Safe animal handling and restraint
  • Obtaining x-rays
  • Running in-house laboratory tests
  • Assisting doctors and technicians with pre-surgical prep
  • Anesthetic monitoring and post-operative monitoring and care
  • Collecting patient histories, reviewing treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients
  • Filling medications and explaining instructions to clients at pick up
  • Performing dental cleanings
  • Daily and routine cleaning
  • Performing other tasks and assist staff members as needed

Experience:
  • Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position

Pay Range
$14-$19 USD
