Description
Dunbarton Corporation is seeking a Senior Specialist - Information Technology to join our team that analyzes, implements, and improves Dunbarton's computers, network, and telecommunications systems and provides technical support to users. This includes systems and network administration, project execution, data security and disaster recovery, and end-user support across all Dunbarton owned and remote locations.
Essential Job Functions
  • Plan and execute IT tasks and projects that advance department goals, keeping projects within budget, schedule, and scope, and coordinating outside contractors and vendors
  • Install, test, maintain, and monitor computer hardware, software, and systems, and develop, document, and revise system design, test procedures, and quality standards
  • Expand and modify Dunbarton's technology and telecommunications systems to support new needs and improve workflow
  • Configure and manage WAN and LAN routers and related equipment, evaluating performance to ensure availability and speed, identifying problems, and supporting disaster recovery
  • Configure and manage data backup, security, user help, and disaster recovery systems, and maintain records of transactions, problems, and remedial actions
  • Provide technical support to staff and users, resolving hardware, software, and program issues primarily in person, supplemented by phone or electronic support as appropriate
  • Develop training materials and train users in the proper use of hardware and software, and stay current on advances in technology
  • Consult with users, management, vendors, customers, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements
  • Partner with other departments to apply technology to corrective actions, safety measures, inventory control, and future technology requirements
  • Support IT activities at remote locations, including customers, vendors, and other Dunbarton sites
  • Adheres to work schedule and attendance requirements, including regular on-site attendance at Dunbarton facilities and nights and weekends as required; regular on-site presence is an essential function of this position
  • Performs other work as directed and required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, servers, and networks (LAN/WAN), including applications and programming
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, database management, and telecommunications systems
  • Knowledge of IT project management, data security, and disaster recovery principles
  • Skill in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems
  • Skill in analyzing systems and complex problems to develop and implement effective solutions
  • Skill in use of computer hardware and software, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and adapt to changing business needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with coworkers and customers
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to take a teamwork approach to the job by cooperating with others, offering to help others when needed, and considering larger organization or team goals rather than individual concerns

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major in a computer-related field
  • Three (3) or more years' experience in a computer-related role
