SUMMARY
The Server plays a critical role in providing an exceptional dining experience for guests. Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking accurate food and beverage orders, delivering orders promptly, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit. The Server is knowledgeable about the menu and specials, provides excellent customer service, and handles payments efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

SHIFT DETAILS
Open to working any 8-hour shift between 6 AM and closing (typically between 10 PM and midnight)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet guests promptly, providing menus and answering initial questions.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Serve food and drinks to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by checking on tables regularly and addressing any concerns or requests.
  • Present and explain menu items, specials, and promotions to guests.
  • Process guest payments, including cash and credit transactions, and provide accurate change.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly to maintain a clean and organized dining area.
  • Assist with side work, such as restocking supplies and preparing condiments.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and seek assistance from management when necessary.
  • Provide a positive dining experience by maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a server in a high-volume full-service restaurant is required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Airport: This position operates in a climate-controlled international airport environment. The temperature, volume of noise, and exposure to the public is outside the control of First Meridian Services, Inc. The position requires use of public spaces as provided by the airport.
Restaurant: This position may require frequent exposure to a restaurant or retail operation environment. Regular exposure to varying temperatures (hot/cold/freezing), fumes, vapors, industrial restaurant equipment, noise, and guests will be a common occurrence.
The nature of restaurant work requires the Server to possess certain physical abilities. Those listed here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform this job. Most of the workday is spent standing or walking and working in close proximity to others. Eye-hand coordination, depth perception, finger dexterity, and functional vision and speech perception are required. Some bending, crouching, pushing/pulling and lifting/lowering of 20-50 lbs. Some repetitive motions with hands, wrists, or arms. Must be able to operate all equipment used in the restaurant. Some exposure to skin irritants, electrical equipment, and sharp instruments. Risk to these exposures is minimized by strict adherence to company standards, policies and procedures.
