GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The growing aircraft industry requires professionally trained maintenancepersonnel. The Aircraft Maintenance Technology program at Greenville TechnicalCollege is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and theVeterans Administration and provides students with the technical, mechanical,and academic skills needed to become aircraft maintenance technicians. Theprogram provides students with the technical, mechanical, and academic skillsrequired to become certified aircraft maintenance technicians. There are four(4) full-time faculty plus supplemental adjunct instructors. Program optionsinclude Aircraft Maintenance Technology - Associate in Applied Science;Aviation Airframe Structure/Systems - Certificate in Applied Science; AviationPowerplant Theory/Systems -
In this challengingrole, you will support the Aircraft Maintenance Technology Department at GreenvilleTechnical College by teaching the subjects under a FAA approved training planand curriculum as required by part 147 which are the technical knowledge andmechanical skills required for students to earn an Associate Degree in AircraftMaintenance Technology. Duties may include any or all of the following:
  • Provide the classroom and hands on instruction that will qualify students to take the Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant certificate exams
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize training aids
  • Present course materials and conduct classroom - lab procedures
  • Evaluate and document student progress on approved attendance sheets
  • Provide remedial instruction and recruiting duties, as assigned
  • Maintain a high degree of proficiency in the field of education - aviation by attending aircraft related training programs
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are secured and managed
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma, four (4) years work experience in Airframe and/orPowerplant topics, a Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplantcertificate; OR an Associate, two (2) years workexperience in Airframe and/or Powerplant topics, a Federal AviationAdministration Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelors degree, four (4) years work experience in Airframe and/or Powerplant topics, a Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant certificate; Four years teaching experience, and have strong electrical/avionics experience.
