Job description

Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for anAircraft & Store Integration Engineer supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Air Dominance Division (AFLCMC/EBA) at Eglin AFB, FL. This position provides the knowledge and experience to efficiently and effectively deliver weapons systems engineering capabilities in support of the acquisition process. The Air Dominance Division is responsible for developing, producing, and sustaining our nation’s Counter‑Air and Counter‑Air Defense capabilities, as well as the aerial targets that support realistic training and weapons testing. Their mission is focused on delivering advanced, high‑impact armament technologies that ensure the joint force maintains air dominance in contested environments.

Our Systems Engineers apply and execute the following technical processes: requirements definition and analysis, architecture design, implementation, integration, verification and validation, transition, decision analysis, technical planning, technical assessment, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, technical data management, and interface management.

Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support systems engineering activities across all phases of the DoD acquisition lifecycle (Materiel Solution Analysis through Operations & Support)
  • Support requirements development, analysis, traceability, and verification
  • Conduct system design, integration, and technical analysis activities
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including specifications, interface documents, and engineering reports
  • Support technical reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR) and program milestone activities
  • Collaborate with program management, logistics, test, and cybersecurity teams to ensure integrated system performance
  • Analyze system performance and recommend design or process improvements
  • Support risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning
  • Provide technical input to acquisition documentation and program decision‑making
Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen

Clearance: Secret clearance

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in related discipline and 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs or similar engineering environments
  • Experience supporting system development, integration, and/or sustainment activities
  • Experience establishing and managing Interface Control Working Groups (ICWG), and the development of Interface Control Plans (ICP).
  • Experience integrating weapons and carriage systems into the aircraft and/or airborne platform Operational Flight Programs (OFP); management of the development, update, and assessment of proposed changes to mission planning systems such as the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) to support the activities necessary to accomplish mission planning for weapon systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate and/or graduate engineering degree from a college or university with an AccreditationBoardofEngineeringandTechnology(ABET)accredited engineering program.
  • Experience with armament systems (air-to-air, air-to-surface munitions, missiles, or related systems)
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes and DoDI 5000 series

Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge and experience in analyzing host aircraft/store compatibility requirements and developing interface control documents for captive carriage and release/launch of Armament Systems in compliance with MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-3014, MIL-A-8591, and Universal Armament Interface (UAI) protocols.
  • Knowledge and experience in the mechanical, aerodynamic, electrical, logical, and logistical compatibility between United States (US) and foreign fighter/bomber/UAV aircraft, suspension and release equipment, and stores (including their embedded computer hardware and software systems).
  • Knowledge and experience with aircraft and store electrical power and avionics systems (i.e., seeker, sensors, fire control, mission computer, pilot/vehicle interface, stores management system, GPS, INS, control actuators).
