Job description

Aggregate Driver - Bottom Dump, Full-Time 

The Bottom Dump Driver is responsible for safely transporting and delivering aggregate materials, sand, gravel, and other construction materials to customer job sites and company locations. Drivers must operate equipment safely, comply with DOT regulations, and provide excellent customer service while representing Folsom Ready Mix and Farmer Companies. The position may require overtime, weekend work, and varying start times based on business demands.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Safely operate a bottom dump tractor-trailer combination.
  • Transport and deliver aggregate materials to construction sites, plants, and other designated locations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate delivery tickets, logs, and records.
  • Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, company, and safety regulations.
  • Secure loads and ensure proper weight distribution.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery schedules, delays, or equipment issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and general appearance of assigned equipment.
  • Report vehicle maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum 18 years of age with High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California Class A Commercial Driver’s License, with a double/triples.
  • Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and physical and be subject to random drug testing in accordance with Company/Federal testing requirements.
  • Ability to bend to ground-level and reach to upper levels with use of a ladder and the stamina to stand and walk for most of the work shift, and lift upwards of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform simple math, e.g., addition, subtraction, etc.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Current Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Clear English speaking/writing and attentive listening skills.
  • Driving, using maps and directions.
  • Ability to be flexible with your schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently climb in and out of truck cab and trailer.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to sit, drive, bend, climb, and walk for extended periods.
