Job description

  • EAMC MISSION

    • At East Alabama Medical Center, our mission is high quality, compassionate health care, and that statement guides everything we do. We set high standards for customer service, quality, and keeping costs under control.
  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Our Labor and Delivery Department includes 13 private labor, delivery and recovery suites. The unit also features 2 operating rooms for Cesarean section deliveries, a 4 bed PACU recovery area, and an 8 bed triage/antepartum area. Labor and Delivery nurses are expected to provide care and support for women before, during and after delivery of the baby.  They are responsible for making sure that the medical as well as emotional needs of the patient are adequately met throughout the entire birth process.

    • $65/hr
    • 13 week contract
    • No benefits
    • Expectation to work every other weekend and 7 shifts per pay period (3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next week)
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum Education
    • Associates degree in nursing or equivalent

    • Minimum Experience
      • N/A

    • Required Registration/License/Certification
      • Current RN license from the Alabama Board of Nursing
      • BLS within 90 days of hire
      • ACLS within 1 year of hire
      • NRP within 90 days of hire
      • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 90 days of hire

    • Preferred Education
      • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

    • Preferred Experience
      • 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience in an acute care facility

    • Preferred Registration/License/Certification
      • RNC-OB certification
