SUMMARY
The Graphic Designer position is a full-time role in the Creative Department of Agency EA. It requires superior aesthetic and design experience. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to manage and design for a wide range of projects that includes but is not limited to: logo and identity design, large-scale environmentals, presentations and layout, web design, various print collateral, broadcast creative and animation.
This individual should excel at analyzing a brandโ€™s design aesthetic and concept new graphic extensions for that brand including logos, graphic treatments, type/font recommendations, and color palette. This position requires an unrelenting commitment to the importance of the creative product and its ability to contribute to the future success of Agency EA and our clients. The Graphic Designer is expected to bring a strong level of creativity and strategy to the concept development phase of new and existing projects and technical expertise to the production phase of live projects.
This position is local to Chicago and hybrid in-office 3 days a week. Some travel required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fulfills lead or support designer role on select live projects and new business Requests for Proposals (RFPโ€™s)
  • Highly collaborative designer who works closely with other designers, creative directors and producers
  • Supports graphics project management and production on assigned projects โ€” including budget awareness, vendor communications, print press checks, file asset management, etc.
  • Communicates tasks and deliverables proficiently with a cross-departmental team (Client Services, Business Development, Production and Creative)
  • Consults with and presents to clients and internal stakeholders as needed โ€” helping to illuminate design thinking and solutions that meet client objectives
  • Facilitates shares and/or learnings and provides project support as needed to the graphics team.
  • Assists in archiving and maintaining digital files, project hard copies, photography, illustrations, logo art, typestyles, historical collateral samples, etc., of client materials and resources for future reference and use
  • Monitors and understands the latest design trends, as well as maintains high skill levels in relevant design softwares and platforms
  • Promotes superior file management and organizational methodology following department guidelines
  • Reports to the VP of Creative

QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA or equivalent required in design focused major (graphic, fine arts, advertising). We also understand many talented individuals did not attend a university or portfolio school, so if you have the equivalent experience, we encourage you to apply.
  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design related industry
  • A portfolio of dynamic and versatile design samples that demonstrate applicable project work
  • High proficiency in:
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc)
    • Apple Keynote amp; Microsoft Powerpoint
    • Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets)
    • Some experience with After Effects and Premiere is a plus
    • Strong conceptual abilities (developing ideas/concepts individually and as part of a team)
  • Familiarity with designing for the web and other digital mediums
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once, designing for a wide range of varying brands, audiences and industries
  • Ability to properly setup files for print based on vendor specifications/needs
  • Ability to project manage graphic deliverables within assigned projects
  • Must be a self-motivated, clear communicator and consensus builder, highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong active listening skills โ€” the ability to interpret information and turn it into actionable next steps
  • Must be able to travel if needed and work occasional nights/weekends.
Salary is paid based on experience and education. It ranges from $65,000 to $75,000.
