Description

The Field Sales Representative - Marketing & Community Engagement is responsible for driving sales growth through local business development, catering sales, community partnerships, and grassroots marketing initiatives. This position serves as a brand ambassador for Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill, building relationships with businesses, schools, organizations, and community leaders to increase brand awareness and generate revenue. The role works closely with restaurant operations and the corporate marketing team to execute local marketing strategies, coordinate events, and achieve sales objectives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, nonprofits, community organizations, and other potential customers to generate catering, fundraising, and group sales opportunities.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new sales opportunities through networking, cold calling, in-person visits, referrals, and community engagement activities.
  • Coordinate and execute catering events, fundraising programs, spirit nights, food drops, and promotional activities.
  • Maintain a sales pipeline and track leads, customer interactions, follow-up activities, and sales results.
  • Collaborate with the corporate marketing team to develop and implement local marketing plans designed to increase traffic, sales, and brand awareness.
  • Execute marketing initiatives including social media campaigns, email marketing, print advertising, community outreach, and local partnerships.
  • Analyze sales performance and marketing results and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain a forward-looking calendar of marketing and community engagement activities aligned with sales goals.
  • Represent Costa Vida at community events, networking functions, trade shows, and local business gatherings.
  • Work closely with restaurant management teams to ensure successful execution of events and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Prepare reports regarding sales activities, marketing efforts, lead generation, and revenue performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year of experience in sales, marketing, business development, customer service, community outreach, hospitality, event planning, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in restaurant, catering, hospitality, or retail operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with customers, business partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email platforms, and social media applications preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during sales calls, events, and community outreach activities.
  • Ability to frequently travel between locations throughout the assigned market.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds of marketing materials, event supplies, and promotional items.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and set up or dismantle event displays and marketing materials.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, tablets, and mobile devices.

Driving Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must maintain a driving record acceptable to company insurance requirements.
  • Reliable transportation required for daily local travel.
  • Must maintain legally required automobile insurance coverage.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to conduct sales meetings, marketing visits, community outreach, and event support activities.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office, restaurant, field sales, and community event environments.
  • Regular local travel required.
  • Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support events, promotions, and business objectives.

Compensation Structure

  • Hourly base pay plus commission.
  • Commission opportunities tied to catering sales, event sales, and other approved revenue-generating activities as established by the company.
