This position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX, with full relocation provided (details below).

Position Overview

We are in search of an Environmental Test Technician I supports execution of environmental testing activities including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, and acoustic testing. This role operates under general supervision while performing test setup, execution, and documentation. The Technician I is expected to have foundational hands-on experience and the ability to execute standard tests with guidance, while continuing to build technical depth and troubleshooting capability. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product integrity, safety, and compliance with aerospace and regulatory standards.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $25/hour based on experience, with overtime opportunities. Higher-level roles are available for more experienced candidates at increased pay.
• Schedule: 4th Shift: Friday through Sunday, 6PM to 6AM (3x12s) with paid lunch and breaks.
• Flexibility: Weekday and weekday shifts are also available depending on experience and team needs.

What You'll Do:

• Perform environmental testing including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic, and related tests with guidance as needed
• Set up and operate test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems following established procedures
• Execute test plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) with attention to detail and accuracy
• Assist with test configuration, fixturing, and instrumentation installation
• Monitor tests and accurately record data; identify and report anomalies or deviations
• Troubleshoot routine test issues and escalate more complex problems as needed
• Document test results, observations, and non-conformances in accordance with quality standards
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements
• Support equipment upkeep, basic maintenance, and calibration activities
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers to support successful test execution
• Maintain organized work areas and test documentation

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant hands-on technical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to environmental test methods (thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic)
• Basic familiarity with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test procedures
• Foundational troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Effective time management and task prioritization
• Willingness to learn and grow technical capability

Technology Stack

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) or similar tools
• Familiarity with test data systems and documentation tools preferred

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to perform repetitive and precision tasks.
• Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required to perform job duties.
• Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing.
• Ability to work in, on, around, and in proximity to large structures, equipment, and tooling.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or carry items up to 35 pounds as required.
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
• Ability to work in and around tight or confined spaces.
• Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and/or hazardous materials (e.g., carbon fiber).

Relocation Support (If You Accept)

• Up to $5,000 in temporary housing (first 3 months)
• $1,050/month stipend after 1st working month on an ongoing basis
