Job description

TRIA is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist to join our orthopedic team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. 

Position Summary:

The primary responsibilities for employees providing support within a department are to greet patients, collect co-pays, schedule follow-up appointments and referrals and support departmental clerical duties. 

Work Schedule:

Every other Saturday & Sunday 7:45a-4:15pm are the minimum required hours scheduled and there is some opportunity to pick up hours on weekdays both during day and evenings, as well as the non-required weekends to help fill in scheduling gaps or sick calls we may get, but primary need is the required e/o weekend.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 months related experience
  • Some medical background preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Human relations sensitivity and customer service skills
  • Listening and telephone etiquette skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge desirable
  • Comfort in asking patients for copays and race collection.
  • Ability to promote and maintain good patient relations and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and structured environment.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to key for long periods of time
  • Accurate computer/keyboarding skills required. 
  • Must be proficient in the operation of the following types of equipment: telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photo copier and fax machine.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
