Overview of position:

FEDITC is seeking a General Engineer to work in the Texarkana (New Boston) TX area

General Engineer Serves as the Senior Project Engineer and technical specialist, responsible for accomplishing a wide variety of professional engineering duties associated with vehicles and components to sustain and improve the fielded fleet. Primary assignments include planning and directing engineering design, development, test, evaluation, production, support to production, and modification of vehicles and components. Advises associate engineers on systems integration of combat and tactical vehicle and/or commercial-based systems and components. 

A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:

Engineering Consultant and Technical Advisor

  • Serves as representative and engineering consultant to Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) and Program Management Offices (PMOs) during engineering conferences.  
  • Provides engineering advice on design/redesign, specifications, and test parameters.  
  • Interprets engineering requirements and participates in developing new or modifying existing requirements and standards.  
  • Identifies changes to processes, materials, configurations, performance capabilities, and system characteristics.  
  • Ensures compliance with command-level policies, regulations, and engineering guidelines.  
  • Prepares formal and informal reports and recommendations regarding current/projected program status, technical issues, risks, and recommended solutions.  
  • Reviews technical data packages and determines adequacy and completeness.  
  • Prepares or reviews Technical Data Packages (TDPs), including DA Form 2028s, ITBs, draft/advance DMWRs, SWIs, and related documentation.  

Production Engineering Support

  • Provides engineering guidance during pre-production conferences prior to start-to-work activities.  
  • Supports validation and verification of pilot overhaul processes.  
  • Advises production personnel, supervisors, managers, Production Management, Technical Requirements, and Contracting personnel.  
  • Assists in resolving production problems and implementing preventive actions.  
  • Serves as engineering liaison between the depot, Program Managers, TACOM, AMCOM, manufacturers, vendors, and government contractors. 
  • Coordinates with action officers and other support organizations to ensure successful mission execution.   
  • Participates in:  
    • Pre-production meetings  
    • Production meetings  
    • In-Process Reviews (IPRs)  
    • Milestone Control System (MICOS) briefings  
    • Product Oriented Surveys (POS)  
    • Pre-award surveys  
    • Audits, conferences, and technical briefings  

Clearance:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required
  • Must be a United States Citizen 
  • Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
