Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

This role supports a high-volume food manufacturing facility during the summer season by performing general production, packaging, and sanitation tasks. You will work on a set weekday shift, handle cheese products, operate and support packaging equipment, and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Load cheese for packaging machines onto conveyors in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Remove cheese from brine cages and prepare it for further processing.
  • Stack cheese boxes neatly on pallets so finished goods fit into cooler racks without damage.
  • Construct boxes and pack product into boxes according to production requirements.
  • Remove packaging material from rejected cheese and prepare cheese for repackaging.
  • Inspect product and packaging for foreign material and imperfections, segregating suspect product when necessary.
  • Rerun suspect product through the metal detector and, if unacceptable, document the vat number and inform the supervisor.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as required to maintain plant equipment in a hygienic condition.
  • Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner throughout the shift.
  • Assist in other production areas as needed to support overall plant operations.
  • Assist in the training of new personnel by demonstrating proper procedures and safety practices.
  • Minimize water usage and the generation of wastewater within the scope of the position.

Work Environment

This position is based in a food manufacturing facility that is very clean and operates under strict safety and sanitation procedures. You will work as a summer temporary employee at the West Middlesex location, likely through mid-September. Available shifts include Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The environment involves working around production and packaging equipment, handling food products, and following Good Manufacturing Practices and safety protocols at all times. The role requires standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and lifting as part of regular duties, with appropriate attire and personal protective equipment used in accordance with facility standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Wilmington, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.41 - $23.09/hr.
