Northrop Grumman's Space Systems, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician (Level 1 or 2) to work with our Case Value Stream Operations Weekday Night Shift team. This position will be located at our Clearfield, UT facility.
Role responsibilities:

A Manufacturing Technician performs hands on activities/tasks associated with manufacturing of composite rocket cases. Tasks may include but are not limited to Tooling/Assembly/Disassembly, Case Surface Preparation, and winding composite equipment operation.

Maintaining cleanliness of work area and facilities, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Participates as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost and scheduling of their team.

This is a weekday night shift position working Mondays - Thursdays Mon-Thurs 6pm-4:30am. Overtime is worked as necessary.

This position can be filled at either Level 1 or Level 2.

Basic Qualifications for Level 1:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Demonstrated mechanical or technical ability

  • Ability to follow planning requirements and to read, comprehend and follow established written instructions without deviation

  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic math and measurement functions

  • Must be able and willing to perform shift work, overtime as required and work on weekends and holidays

  • Must possess a valid state driver's license

  • U.S. Citizenship

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 2 or more years manufacturing experience

  • Ability to follow planning requirements and to read, comprehend and follow established written instructions without deviation

  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic math and measurement functions

  • Must be able and willing to perform shift work, overtime as required and work on weekends and holidays

  • Must possess a valid state driver's license

  • U.S. Citizenship

Physical Skills & Aptitudes:

  • Able to work a physically demanding day (stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; lift, bend, twist push and pull up to 50 lbs.) while wearing protective equipment (respirator, coveralls, gloves, eye and ear protection, etc.).

  • Safe handling of equipment and materials in a manufacturing environment

  • Operating industrial equipment such as cranes, forklifts, precision measuring instruments and hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer Associates degree or Technical Certificate related to composite material
