Job Description Technical Maximo Application Support Analyst Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid) Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview A leading organization within the energy sector is seeking a Technical Maximo Application Support Analyst to serve as a key member of its enterprise applications team. This individual will take ownership of the technical support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's IBM Maximo environment and related integrations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, supporting mission-critical applications, and working directly with both IT and business stakeholders to ensure operational systems remain stable, scalable, and effective.

The role is heavily focused on application support, troubleshooting, integrations, configuration, and platform reliability. Candidates coming from a pure functional Maximo background or a dedicated software engineering role may find this position less aligned with their experience. Key Responsibilities Maximo Platform Ownership Serve as the primary technical resource responsible for the health, stability, and performance of the IBM Maximo platform.

Ensure ongoing availability and reliability of the application across production and non-production environments. Coordinate and implement system updates, maintenance activities, patches, and platform enhancements. Application Support & Troubleshooting Investigate and resolve application issues, service requests, and production incidents.

Perform root cause analysis across application, database, and integration layers. Work closely with end users and business stakeholders to diagnose technical challenges and deliver effective solutions. Participate in major incident response efforts and drive long-term corrective actions.

Integrations & Technical Enhancements Design, configure, and support integrations utilizing the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF). Assist with interface development and troubleshooting involving middleware and connected enterprise systems. Support application enhancements, customizations, and configuration changes while ensuring platform stability.

Develop and maintain automation scripts and supporting technical components when required. Reporting & Data Management Design, modify, and maintain BIRT reports and operational reporting solutions. Support reporting requests, data analysis efforts, and application data integrity initiatives.

Collaborate with database teams on performance tuning and troubleshooting activities. Governance & Continuous Improvement Ensure changes follow established change control, release management, and governance processes. Develop and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles.

Identify opportunities to improve application performance, maintainability, supportability, and overall user experience. Participate in project planning efforts by providing technical estimates, recommendations, and implementation guidance. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, Engineering, or related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Experience supporting IBM Maximo in a production enterprise environment. Strong understanding of Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) concepts, architecture, and troubleshooting. Experience configuring Maximo applications, Start Centers, workflows, and related platform components.

Hands-on experience creating and supporting BIRT reports. Strong SQL and database troubleshooting skills. Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar technologies.

Background supporting enterprise commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication abilities. Preferred Experience Exposure to IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS).

Experience supporting large-scale operational, transportation, logistics, utility, manufacturing, or asset-intensive environments. Familiarity with integration technologies such as Boomi or similar middleware platforms. Understanding of ITIL service management practices and support processes.

Experience working within regulated or highly available operational environments. What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will become the technical go-to resource for Maximo, ensuring the platform remains reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
