Job description

Job Title: Scheduler Administrator
Location: Wilmington, Delaware, USA
Years of Experience: 10 15 Years
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Scheduler Administrator to manage and maintain our IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) environments across development, test, and production systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scheduling administration, incident management, and change support, with a proven track record of ensuring successful job execution and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) environments across development, test, and production systems.
Create, modify, and manage job streams, jobs, calendars, schedules, and dependencies.
Monitor daily batch operations to ensure successful job execution and SLA adherence.
Perform root cause analysis for job failures and implement permanent fixes.
Proactively monitor scheduler consoles and alerts.
Respond to batch failures, delays, and performance issues.
Coordinate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents.
Follow ITIL based incident, problem, and change management processes.
Support scheduling changes related to application releases and enhancements.
Validate new jobs and schedules during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production deployments.
Maintain rollback and recovery procedures for batch processing.
Mandatory Skills:
Extensive experience with Tivoli Workload Scheduler (IWS) is a deal breaker.
Strong knowledge of job scheduling, monitoring, and incident management.
Proficiency in ITIL based processes for incident, problem, and change management.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with other scheduling tools and technologies.
Familiarity with application release management and deployment processes.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
10 15 years of relevant experience in scheduler administration and operations.
Proven experience in managing batch operations and incident resolution.
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
