Location: Columbus, OH
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | 12-Hour Shifts | 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Job Overview

CMI-HR Facility Solutions is hiring dependable candidates for an Extrusion Technician / Extrusion Associate position with a plastic manufacturing company in Columbus, Ohio. This is a full-time opportunity in a plant environment with 12-hour shifts.

The schedule is 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM on a rotating work schedule. Candidates may work approximately 36 hours one week and approximately 48 hours the following week, depending on production needs.

The selected candidate will work through CMI-HR Facility Solutions during the probationary period. After successfully completing the required evaluation period, there may be an opportunity to be hired directly by the client company, based on attendance, performance, attitude, safety, and business needs.

The ideal candidate must be reliable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, tolerant of strong odors, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This position supports the extrusion process, product quality, production schedules, safety procedures, and daily plant operations.

Position Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work closely with the Lead Technician Trainer to learn and understand the extrusion process. Responsibilities include:

• Peeling and grinding returns
• Learning to operate Quality Assurance equipment
• Understanding the purpose and function of each device used in the extrusion process
• Reading and following production schedules
• Understanding product specifications and quality expectations
• Supporting the production of quality products according to customer requirements
• Following all safety rules, regulations, and company procedures
• Completing assigned projects and daily duties
• Understanding how the position impacts the company’s Quality Management System
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-focused
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts from 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Must be comfortable working a rotating schedule, including weeks with possible overtime
• Must be tolerant of strong odors related to plastic manufacturing
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing plant
• Must have basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and measurement conversions
• Must have good mechanical aptitude
• Must be comfortable learning basic hydraulics, mechanics, and equipment operation
• Must have excellent attendance and a strong work history
• Must be willing to work overtime when required based on business needs
• High school education is preferred
• Previous experience as an Extrusion Technician, Machine Operator, Production Associate, or in plastic manufacturing is preferred

This position is located in a plastic manufacturing plant. Candidates may be exposed to excessive heat, noise, strong odors, and production-related conditions. The work pace is fast, and candidates must be self-starters who can remain focused, follow safety procedures, and complete assigned duties accurately.
