Job description

Job Title: Seasonal Zamboni Driver
Location: Maggie Daley Park, Chicago, IL
Reports To: Facility Manager
Hourly Rate: $30.00/hr
Employment Type: Seasonal, Part-Time

Position Summary

Maggie Daley Park, operated by Legends Global, is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Seasonal Zamboni Driver to join our team during the ice-skating season. This role plays a key part in maintaining high-quality ice conditions and ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for all park visitors. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, a proactive work ethic, and is comfortable working in a high-traffic public environment. Maggie Daley Park is open 7 days a week in all types of weather. Rain, Snow and Sunshine. All Applicants need to be extremely reliable, dedicated and punctual. References will be checked. Applicant must have 3-6 years of experience of outdoor zamboni driving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operates an ice resurfacer (Zamboni) correctly and safely to ensure and maintain acceptable ice conditions.

  • Perform routine maintenance on ice resurfacing machine as needed including refilling holding and gas tanks.

  • Prepare records and service reports of job time and materials expended.

  • Assist with snow removal.

  • Must be able to exhibit a teamwork attitude as well as self-motivation.

  • Participate in and may assist with trainings and staff meetings.

  • Respond to incidents and report injuries or concerns to the Operations Team.

  • May assist with other facility related job responsibility and duties throughout the Ribbon as needed basis.

  • Complete other job responsibility and duties as assigned.

Schedule Requirements

  • Starting October 1st through April 1st; this is a seasonal, part-time position

  • Maggie Daley Park is open 7 days a week 8am-10pm. ALL Holidays

  • Applicants must be available to work early mornings, weekdays, evenings and Weekends

  • Ability to work the following Shift(s): 7:00AM-1:30PM,10:00AM-4:30PM, 4:00PM-10:30PM

Requirements - educational, certifications, & experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Driver's License required.

  • Experience driving an ice-resurfacing machine is required.

  • Must have or obtain CPR/AED and First Aid training within three (3) months of hire date

  • Reliable Transportation, in all types of weather.

  • 3-6 years of experience of outdoor zamboni driving.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform highly skilled coordinated movements while operating the Zamboni.

  • Must be able to listen and communicate effectively as well and understand operating procedures and written directives.

  • High degree of public interaction and communication with exposure to periods of high-volume activity.

  • Physical activities include long periods of standing, sitting, moderate lifting (20-50lbs) and moving about the facility.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule: hours will be set by the Operations Manager.

Compensation

  • Hourly Pay: $30.00/hour
