Job description

Days Inn Elmsford  is hiring for a self motivated maintenance worker to perform daily upkeep of the property interior and exterior.

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

BASIC PURPOSE: Respond to all guests' requests and maintain the cleanliness & condition of hotel grounds to maximize customers' satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversee the maintenance tasks, work orders and special projects ensuring timely and accurate completion.

  • Respond to guest's maintenance needs promptly and ensure guests receive professional, efficient prompt and courteous service to hotel standards.
  • Maintain the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel including physical. mechanical, electrical, plumbing etc.
  • Installation & maintenance of all equipment related to HVAC, Water treatment, Fire Safety etc.
  • Ensure proper records are kept relating to all HVAC, boilers and equipment for the hotel including repair and service records.
  • Ensure property, grounds, physical condition of mechanical equipment and work areas are maintained to standard and that all safety equipment and conditions are to code.
  • Maintain, monitor and test hotel's emergency and security systems, features like Fire Alarm, CCTV, sprinkler system etc.
  • Deliver guest requests (irons/boards, hair-dryers, roll-a-way beds, towels, soap, etc.) in a timely, efficient and hospitable manner and maintain log.
  • Retrieve all irons/boards, hair-dryers, etc. within two hours of signing out to guest and ensure all items are accounted for at the close of shift and update status in log.
  • Maintain the housekeeping and storage areas through sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, etc. to ensure a high level of sanitation.
  • Report all safety hazards and items requiring repair (frayed electrical cord, broken on/off switches, etc.) noted during course shift to the Linen Room Attendant.
  • Empty all outside trash receptacles throughout the hotel to ensure the hotel is free from debris. Removal of all trash and roll-a-ways from hallways.
  • Check, lock and secure all linen closets and storage areas.
  • Check stairwells for debris, clean as necessary.
  • Assist in cleaning guest rooms as may be needed.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the Linen Room attendant in stocking housekeeping caddies with soap, shampoo, stationary, etc.
  • Clean (dust, empty trash receptacles, vacuum, etc.) offices as needed.
  • Assume the duties and responsibilities of a Turndown Attendant, Houseperson and/or Lobby Attendant in his/her absence.Â
