Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering and 3-6 years of relevant experience in the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure projects. This role will support projects in both the public and private sectors, including roads, bridges, water systems, and buildings.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects from start to finish, including site investigations, design development, submittal review, field coordination, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and construction support. Knowledge of NYC regulations, experience with site plans and specifications, and the ability to work effectively in both office and field settings are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and review civil engineering designs, drawings, plans, and specifications for infrastructure and site development projects
  • Support projects through all phases, from initial planning and design through construction and closeout
  • Conduct site investigations, field observations, and assessments to evaluate existing conditions and project requirements
  • Analyze technical data and develop practical engineering solutions that meet project objectives, schedules, and budgets
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with NYC regulations, safety standards, environmental requirements, and applicable industry codes
  • Assist with budget tracking, cost control, and maintaining projects within approved financial parameters
  • Prepare or support preparation of MPT plans, stormwater management plans, and other civil/site-related documents
  • Use CAD software, including AutoCAD, to develop and revise project drawings
  • Support permitting, reporting, and documentation requirements as needed
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including submittal reviews responding to RFIs, reviewing field conditions, and monitoring project progress

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering required
  • 3-6 years of civil engineering experience in design, planning, construction, and/or infrastructure projects
  • EIT certification & PE preferred or required depending on experience level
  • Experience with projects in the public and private sectors
  • Strong knowledge of NYC regulations and permitting requirements
  • Experience with field work, site investigations, site plans, and specifications
  • Proven ability to manage projects from concept through completion
  • Experience reviewing submittals and coordinating with contractors and consultants
  • Familiarity with budget management and cost-conscious project execution
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Experience with Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) plans
  • Knowledge of stormwater management and SWPPP regulations
  • Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Combination of office and field work.
  • Site visits and field investigations may be required depending on project needs.

Salary: $80k to $120k (Negotiable based on experience)
