Job description
Stony Point Center, owned and operated by PC(USA) for over 40 years, is located in the scenic Hudson River Valley, 45 minutes northwest of New York City in beautiful upstate New York. It rests on 30 acres of nature, gardens and farmland with a meditation space, labyrinth and art space to help guests explore faith, creativity, community and leadership building.

This position calls for a commitment to the mission of the PC(USA) as noted in its theological confessions, the Book of Order, and the actions of the General Assembly.
The Reservation Specialist is both the first point of contact and one of the main roles of the hospitality environment. This role supports the Reservations Team by answering initial questions, guiding guests through the booking process and contract preparation, coordinating tours and welcoming guests, and assisting with other guest-related tasks as assigned.
Evening hours and Saturdays are required. One year term contract part time (non-benefits) at 19 hours per week.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe following represent the essential roles and responsibilities of this position, listed in order of importance. This and all positions in SPC support and encourage the purpose and values of the Presbyterian Life & Witness in attitude, work ethics, behaviors, and relationships.
- Guest Services point of contact
- Serving as the initial point of contact for group inquiries.
- Carefully assess each group's needs and prepare accurate contracts accordingly.
- Ensure phone calls and emails are returned/answered in a timely manner and with accurate information.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with guests.
- Conduct smooth check-in and check-out with guest groups. This includes being aware of each group's missional purpose as well as their arrival, agenda, rooming, and departure plans.
- Address any guest/other department's concerns that arise during the guest's stay or afterward.
- Ensure a neat, organized, and clean environment throughout our main building's shared spaces.
- Follow opening and closing procedures and communicate any unfinished matters to the next shift.
- Interact with guests and staff to present Stony Point Center in a positive and hospitable way.
- Responsible for CAMPBRAIN system management and appropriate usage.
- Other tasks assigned by Guest Services Manager and/or the Director. This may include assisting with other departments such as kitchen, set up, A/V, and maintenance.
Minimum of associate degree, bachelor's degree preferred. 1-3 years of customer service or hospitality experience. Demonstrated computer skills. Must be well-spoken as well as sensitive to guest's needs. Excellent writing and oral communication skills. Strong phone ethics and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time. Ability to work well independently and as part of the team. Strong customer service skills and ability to manage crises calmly. Demonstrated ability to learn and use new computer software. Basic A/V understanding. Familiarity with the CAMPBRAIN software is a plus.
