Job description

Breast Nurse Practitioner

Full Time * Annapolis, MD

Luminis Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our multidisciplinary Breast Health team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career caring for patients with benign and malignant breast disease while working alongside experienced breast surgeons and oncology specialists. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training, including support for the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) Advanced Practice Provider Certification Program.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with benign breast conditions

  • Perform postoperative follow-up visits

  • Conduct annual evaluations for breast cancer survivors

  • Evaluate and manage patients at high risk for breast cancer

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, breast examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning

  • Order, interpret, and follow up on breast imaging studies

  • Perform minor in-office procedures, including seroma aspirations and skin punch biopsies

  • Coordinate care across outpatient, inpatient, ambulatory, telemedicine, and home settings

  • Collaborate with breast surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and multidisciplinary care teams to develop individualized treatment plans

  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, risk reduction, and survivorship

  • Participate in high-risk breast assessment, community outreach, and population health initiatives

  • Support quality improvement, patient safety, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives

  • Maintain compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission standards

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner

  • At least 3 years of nursing or advanced practice experience in an ambulatory, outpatient, inpatient, or community care setting

  • Oncology, Women's Health, Breast Surgery, or Surgical experience preferred

  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team preferred

  • Current Maryland licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for building long-term provider-patient relationships
