Job description

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Relief Fryer/Peeler Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA on our new Week Night Shift.
As a Relief Fryer/Peeler Operator this candidate will be responsible for removing waste from the conveyor belt that holds peeled potatoes and will also cut oversized potatoes and spots from all potatoes. This position works Monday to Thursday 6PM-6AM.
Responsibilities
  • Inspects peeled potatoes and trims defects to control quality of raw potato input to fryer.
  • Operates potato chip fryer in relief of regular operator, including preparation for start-up and shut down.
  • Carries out all necessary daily and weekly sanitation procedures for either peeler or frying area
  • Changes and sets blades.
  • Performs all necessary duties to prepare peeler/slicer or frying system for production start-up.
  • Operates peeler/slicer system to maintain sufficient supply of properly peeled and sliced raw potatoes for fryer operation.
  • Reports all quality or mechanical problems to the supervisor.
  • Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
