Project Accountants work directly with our Project Managers on a wide range of accounting functions including assisting with billings, job costs and invoicing. You will report directly to the Controller. This is a 100% in-office position based in our San Jose office, located in Santana Row. 

As a Project Accountant, you will serve in the following areas:
  • Assist in the accounting and processing of payables for subcontractor invoices
  • Assist with project close process
  • Track lien waivers, retention payments, vendor/sub inquiries
  • Work with Project Managers in the billing process through Timberline billing module
  • Assist with determining gross margins, client billing requirements, and other job cost processes
  • Assist with job cost process through Timberline job module
  • Assist is collections and recording cash
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Assist with development and implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures
The successful candidate will possess:
  • 2+years of recent accounting experience
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with major coursework in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • Construction industry experience preferred
  • Strong problem solving and oral and written communication skills
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Professional and able to work calmly under pressure
  • Resourceful and able to track down answers
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Excel 
  • Experience with Sage/Timberline accounting software a plus
