Job description

Modjeski and Masters (M&M) is looking for a full-time Senior Roadway Engineer, with at least 10 yearsโ€™ experience in FDOT highway projects.ย  Candidate will have a valid Florida State PE.

As a Senior Roadway Engineer/Project Manager, you will lead a variety of challenging and rewarding transportation engineering projects for a myriad of Florida clients. As a member of our team, you'll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks along with established and respected professionals. You'll have opportunities to interact directly with clients, becoming a valued partner on a variety of high-impact projects, and apply fresh insights at every stage of the project's life cycle.

Candidates will have access to a hybrid working schedule, mentorship, a comprehensive employee benefit package, 401K, and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)

Requirements:

  • Registered PE in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of 10 yearsโ€™ FDOT Experience and Highway specific projects experience
  • A minimum of a BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Highway/Transportation Design from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Experience in pursuing and managing multi-discipline projects, including projects with bridge replacement, new bridge alignment, or bridge rehabilitation.
  • Client Relationships with FDOT District Four and FDOT District Six.
  • Proficient in MicroStation and Bentley Open Road Designer and a familiarity with AASHTO
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a professional sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client needs.
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Detail oriented with good oral and written communications skills and a fluency in English.

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Provide technical and leadership guidance for transportation engineers,
  • Maintain strong client relationships,
  • Pursue and win projects with FDOT and local agency clients
  • Prepare proposals and marketing presentations
  • Manage multiple projects and project teams within budget and schedule.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Perform roadway design tasks, and plan preparation utilizing Open Road Designer, from conception phaseย to final deliverable phase, including specs package and cost estimate and post-design services.
  • Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians and/or junior engineers for development of contract plans related to design work.
  • Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
  • Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
  • Review and check roadway and shop drawings.
