A Website Development Intern assists in designing, building, and maintaining websites under the guidance of senior developers. Their tasks may include coding using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other web technologies, testing website features, fixing bugs, and helping update website content. Interns also gain experience with web development tools and frameworks, collaborate with team members, and learn about best practices in web design and user experience. The role is designed to provide hands-on learning while contributing to real-world projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a website development intern?

To thrive as a Website Development Intern, you generally need foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with web design principles, often supported by coursework or relevant certifications. Experience using development tools such as Visual Studio Code, Git, and content management systems (CMS) like WordPress is typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication help interns collaborate and adapt in dynamic team environments. These skills ensure the intern can contribute to web projects efficiently, learn quickly, and support the team's goals in creating functional, user-friendly websites.

Job description

617MediaGroup, one of the fastest-growing progressive communications agencies in the U.S., is looking for a PAID Partnership Development Intern to join our growing team. At 617MediaGroup, we don't just accept difference — we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our clients, and our communities. We believe that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds must be centered in the work we do. We strongly encourage applications from marginalized communities.

Who we are:
We're veteran campaigners, communicators, designers, strategists, storytellers, and web developers. We love what we do. We're results-driven. And we only work with clients we believe in.

What we do:
We move public opinion. We win tough fights. We tell stories simply, and with maximum impact. We offer comprehensive communication services: from earned media to paid, from digital strategy to eye-catching design. Websites. Video. We do it all for the benefit of our clients' social justice causes and campaigns.

This is a part-time, paid internship ($20.36/hour). To be considered for an internship, applicants must be able to complete a minimum of 20 hours per week. Occasional night and weekend availability is necessary.

Who you are:
• You've had internships before, preferably with a focus on partnership development or marketing
• You have experience working in HubSpot
• You're dogged and organized
• You have a problem-solver mindset with a can-do attitude
• You thrive in fast-paced environments
• You want to learn and grow with an exciting, mission-driven communications firm
• You're ready to hit the ground running

What you'll be doing:
• Researching contact information for prospecting
• Uploading contacts and deals to Hubspot
• Reviewing and editing details of existing contacts in Hubspot to align with marketing sequences
• Cataloging business development decks to develop templates and ready-made slide
• Updating deals in Hubspot
• Taking notes for partnership development check-in calls

All employees in this position are expected to retain a valid driver's license and a purchased or leased automobile for personal transportation to work events with a valid inspection sticker. If this expectation will create an unmitigable hardship, and you would like to request an exemption, please note that in your cover letter.

Please note that we receive hundreds of applications each month, and we are not able to respond to every individual application. If you do not receive a response from our organization within 90 days either in the form of initial outreach or follow-up correspondence, please assume that your application has not been chosen for the specific career opportunity to which you applied. You may re-apply at any time for future opportunities. While we do our best to ensure timely and thorough correspondence with applicants, the volume of applications we receive does not allow us to respond individually in all cases. Thank you again for your interest in pursuing employment with 617MediaGroup.
