Job description


Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse with particular emphasis on managing warehouses associates and implementing warehouse action plans.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Consistently achieves results, even under tough circumstances. Has Strong bottom- line orientation. Persists in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks. Has a track record of exceeding goals successfully.
  • Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.

  • Directs and supervises all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion.
  • Tours the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems.
  • Makes recommendations to the Operations Manager and/or the Distribution Center Manager on programs to improve warehouse operations.
  • Allocates equipment so that it is utilized in the most efficient manner.
  • Interacts with other departmental management to achieve goals.
  • Attends warehouse planning meetings.
  • Ensures that all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained.
  • Reviews operating goals and standards and monitor achievement.
  • Supervises checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes.
  • Reviews warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat and well organized and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures and policies are followed.
  • Operates in compliance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
  • Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts as required.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the operational budget as required.
  • Ensure that Weber SSS (Safety, Security and Sanitation) procedures are trained on, practiced and strictly enforced.
  • Performs incident root cause analysis and identifies corrective action as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Please note the following is the current schedule requirement for this role: Tuesday thru Friday from 9AM โ€“ 6PM (varies based on business needs); and Saturday from 7AM to 3:30PM.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to administrative subordinates.
  • Should have superior organizational/communication skills and thorough understanding of warehouse systems.
  • Must have knowledge of personal computers including, general office software, and/or online systems knowledge.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Able to work effectively with a wide range of personnel.
  • Good analytical skills, as well as, independent thinking/reasoning ability.
  • Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems such as Synapse.

Education, Experiences, Certificates/Licenses and/or Registrations:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience in management/administration preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a direct supervision capacity.
  • Logistics/Transportation industry experience highly preferred.

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required:

While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly required to sit and stand to perform the work. The associate is required to reach with hands and arms, smell, talk and hear. The associate must be able to lift, push, pull or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy and the associate may be exposed to extreme weather. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Hearing protection must be worn in designated areas.
  • Fully enclosed shoes or safety shoes must be worn in designated areas.
  • Safety glasses must be worn in designated areas.
  • Other PPE as required by the company.
