A web programmer is responsible for the development and planning of a website’s execution. Your job duties include focusing on the actual code of the website to meet design specifications. You take a design sheet and write up a software algorithm to determine how best to translate it into code, and can work independently or as part of a team. Job description

About Poshmark
Poshmark is the leading fashion marketplace where style comes alive through discovery, self-expression, and human connection. Powered by a vibrant community of 165 million members, Poshmark brings real people and taste to shopping through a social experience shaped by shared discovery. Buying and selling fashion feels simple, joyful, and personal, while every item tells its own story. Poshmark empowers sellers to grow meaningful businesses, keeps fashion in circulation longer, and gives shoppers access to unique and trusted finds, from everyday pieces to one-of-a-kind vintage and luxury.
Poshmark is looking for a Senior Web Engineer II to join our Buyer Pod. We are the team responsible for the core user journey: feed, discovery, search, and listing details. We don't just build interfaces; we build the engine that helps millions of users find and buy what they love.
We are looking for an engineer who values the "how" as much as the "what." You should be someone who understands the browser's rendering pipeline and DOM underpinnings deeply, ensuring that our migration from Vue 2 to Vue 3 is not just a version bump, but a leap forward in performance and code quality.
Core Responsibilities
  • Architect & Execute: Lead small engineering pods to take complex features from discovery to production-scale delivery.
  • The Vue Migration: Act as a key driver in our transition from Vue 2 to Vue 3, leveraging the Composition API and modern build tools (Vite/Webpack).
  • High-Performance UI: Build responsive, accessible, and high-performance web applications with a focus on Core Web Vitals and efficient state management.
  • Design Partnership: Collaborate closely with Product and Design to ensure every pixel serves the user experience. You should bring a strong "sense of taste" to everything you build.
  • Technical Mentorship: Influence the technical roadmap and mentor junior/mid-level engineers through code reviews and architecture discussions.

90-Day Success Metrics
  • Immediate Impact: Contribute production-ready code to both our legacy and modern environments within your first 30 days.
  • Migration Milestone: Successfully migrate a complex module or shared component from Vue 2 to Vue 3.
  • Feature Ownership: Lead the technical execution of a new buyer-facing feature, ensuring it meets our standards for performance and design polish.

12-Month Success Metrics
  • Architecture Evolution: Propose and implement structural improvements to our web stack that measurably improve developer velocity and site speed.
  • System Expert: Become the primary technical point of contact for our search and discovery front-end architecture.
  • Team Growth: Level up the team's collective knowledge of browser internals and modern JavaScript best practices.

Desired Skills
  • 5+ years of software development experience, with a focus on high-scale web applications.
  • Under the Hood Knowledge: Deep understanding of JavaScript fundamentals (Event Loop, DOM API, browser rendering) beyond framework-specific abstractions.
  • Vue Specialist: Proven experience with Vue 2 and Vue 3. Experience navigating the friction of migrating between the two is highly preferred.
  • Leadership: Experience leading small teams or project "pods" and a track record of driving features to completion.
  • Product Intuition: A sharp eye for UI/UX and a passion for creating "great" web design rather than just "functional" code.
  • The Stack: Familiarity with modern build tools (Vite, Webpack), RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
