JOB DESCRIPTION


Summary/Objective

This is full-time position that will lead ANSI X12 and/or XML EDI implementations including requirements gathering, analysis, and mapping, setup, and testing with external trading partners and EDI service providers in a pharmaceutical 3PL service environment. This position will work with other team members to maintain operational readiness, provide support and business continuity.

  • Lead projects with new and existing clients and trading partners to capture and analyze EDI requirements, mapping specifications and project objectives.
  • Gather client specifications and implement per client requirements/industry guidelines within agreed project timeframes, and provide status updates to all stakeholders
  • Setup EDI transmission capabilities including but not limited to AS2, SFTP, XML and web services.
  • Specify, develop, test, and document EDI mappings with trading partners including 3PL industry 800 & 900-series ordering, shipping and accounting transactions.
  • Provide on-going training, technical and client operational support.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze production EDI activity for quality, accuracy, mapping issues, and adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Review, understand and debug current solutions and technologies to identify bottlenecks, eliminate redundancies, recognize opportunities for improvement, pinpoint defects and recommend improvements to service delivery, operational efficiency and overall effectiveness.
  • Maintain EDI status tracking and management reporting.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the client sales cycle, providing clear and timely explanation of industry compliant EDI solutions including specifications, testing process, communication requirements, and production expectations.
  • Monitor EDI industry trends to ensure our platforms are in line and as good as or better than our competitors.
  • Act as an internal project manager for engagements requiring IT resources, develop associated project plans, and monitor ongoing performance.
  • Create and maintain internal documentation for client specifications, system operating procedures, and system configurations.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectives.
  • Serve as a consultant to other internal and external customer resources as needed.
  • Provide technical support and customer service directly to end users using a ticketing system, telephone, electronic communication, and remote screen sharing.
  • Able to function in an on-call capacity during and after regular business hours.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, during day shift hours. Maintenance and customer activities may occasionally require work be conducted after hours or on weekends.

Travel
This position requires occasional travel, up to 20%.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience.
  • At least 3 years of monitoring, maintaining, improving, and supporting technical systems and integrations.
  • Minimum five years EDI implementation experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, including hands-on application development and support.
  • Knowledge of AS2 & SFTP file transfer protocols; other VAN options a plus
  • Independent working knowledge of ANSI X12 EDI standards; EPCIS XML a plus
  • Experience with warehousing/distribution center operations and WMS information systems is highly desirable, preferably in 3PL and/or pharmaceutical operations
  • Ability to simultaneously manage and organize several projects and regular duties.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be a “self-starter”.
