Overview:

We are urgently looking for a Sr. Software Engineer for our client that will handle the following duties for the company:

  • Implement requirements and prototypes in Node.js, JavaScript and other development languages
  • Maintain website by addressing and fixing site issues and defects
  • Ensure code quality with unit tests by using test-driven development Provide feedback through code reviews and peer programming techniques
  • Document code implementation within the codebase and on the wiki
  • When tools, automation, or innovative functionality is needed, researches and develops latest technologies
  • Interact with product and project managers to understand requirements that will be implemented
  • Collaborate with search, mobile and other engineering teams to design and implement consumer features
  • Work together with team members to plan, break-down and implement functional tasks
Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science and 3-5 years' combined web development experience, preferably using Node.js or JavaScript; OR Masters in Computer Science and 1-2 years' combined web development experience, preferably using Node.js or JavaScript
  • Web development experience (professional and/or academic) using any of these technologies: Java, Python, Perl or Ruby Experience with Jade and Less is a plus
  • Node.js experience is highly desired; at the very least, candidate should have strong desire and aptitude to work with Node
  • Experience developing web sites utilizing lightweight web services is a plus
  • Experience developing web for mobile devices is a plus
