Job description

Manager, Curriculum and Instruction

Reporting to the Director,Client Operations, this role is a Leadership rolethat supportsthetraining departmentwith the construction and development of courses for both online andface-to-facedelivery. Training may be delivered both internally and externally to students, staff, clients, stakeholders, etc. The Curriculum and Instructional Manager will be responsible for the quality of instruction and curriculum for allWomen Building Futuresprograms.

This is a full-time permanent hybrid position, with expectation to be present at the Edmonton Training Centre as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review all training material that has been deployed through the LMS on a regular basis to ensureaccuracy and completeness
  • Supervise internal curriculum team staff which may include an Instructional Designer, LMSadministrator, graphic designer, editors, writer, etc
  • Collaborate with WBF colleagues, instructors, training providers, and subject matter experts to

determine learning needs and develop/select appropriate self-paced and facilitated courses and web- based training materials

  • Prepare, update, and develop course and training materials as needed and adapt materials to changing priorities
  • Apply adult learning theory, identify learning objectives, and measure effectiveness of learning

interventions through assessment

  • Manage curriculum development project resources as required
  • Assist LMS Administrator with basic troubleshooting of LMS and Learning Object issues as needed
  • Ongoing learning about emerging trends and technologies in the learning and development industry
  • Assist with group facilitation for staff development through multiple mediums: Online, face to face andblended models
  • Research and initiate corrections and improvements to course offerings
  • Consult, facilitate and support services for the development, implementation and assessment of[Text Wrapping Break]learning experiences at the curriculum, program course and class levels in coordination with Training
  • Modify and enhance our existing material and processes according to organizational needs and learnerfeedback
  • Research, design, and internally deliver professional development opportunities to staff members
  • Ability to design and incorporate learning objectives, structured learning activities, and modes ofassessment, such as tests or quizzes, that measure the effectiveness of the learning modules
  • Develop policies and procedures around quality curriculum and instruction

  • Strong communication skills:Written and verbal, with strongwriting, editing and proofreading skills

Education & Experience

  • Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Instructional Design, Teaching and Learning in higher education, educational technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of Instructional Design experience, including e-learning
  • Minimum of five years of training development, delivery, teaching, or facilitation experience.
  • Experience with and ability to learn new educational technology resources and devise as required (i.e. cloud computing, blended learning, video streaming, etc.)
  • Demonstrated skill developing and delivering innovative, creative, engaging online training with experience creating multi-modal learning solutions, including proficiency developing eLearning modules, quizzes and assessments
  • Experience working with construction or trades is considered an asset
  • Criminaland Vulnerable Sector checks indicating no record of convictionsor intervention service records are required
