As part of our Control Systems team, you'll support a team accountable for the reliability and availability of all DCS and control system assets within the project area. If you are passionate about industrial operations and data science, this opportunity is for you! Get ready to grow your skills and make a real impact in a collaborative and innovative environment. 

  • Job location: Calgary, Alberta - Head Office 
  • Work schedule: 5 x 2, 8 hours per day (Monday - Friday)
  • Term length: 8 Months
  • Term start: May 2027
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Model Development: Design and implement forecasting models to predict future trends and utilize machine learning algorithms to analyze historical data and identify trends and anomalies
  • Data Workflow Management: Utilize data orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect) to manage and streamline data processing workflows, ensuring efficient execution of EDA and data manipulation tasks
  • Data Visualization: Develop interactive dashboards using visualization tools (e.g., Plotly Dash, Power BI) to present forecasting results and insights to stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making
  • Data Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure high-quality datasets, addressing anomalies, missing values, and outliers effectively
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, integrate data from various sources (e.g., PI Process Book), and provide analytical support for operational improvements

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Engineering 
  • Proven completion of formal training related to data science
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • A pre-employment drug and alcohol test must be successfully completed
