Job description

Job Summary:
Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Ground Software Systems Engineer to support national security space missions. The role involves developing and deploying modern ground systems and ensuring successful integration of space, ground, and crypto segments to meet user needs.
Responsibilities:
• Work with Booz Allen colleagues, other support contractors, and U.S. Space Force personnel to develop and deploy modern ground systems to support rapid acquisition of future capabilities.
• Assist the government in ensuring space, ground, and crypto segments are integrated successfully to meet user’s needs.
• Provide direct support to the chief engineer and manage the Booz Allen engineering team supporting the program office.
• Ensure capabilities are delivered.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 7+ years of experience with architecting, implementing or integrating ground system components, such as satellite command and control, data processing, communications, or mission planning systems
• 7+ years of experience in software development using programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks, including C++ or Python
• 2+ years of experience with program reviews, such as SRR, SDR, SFR, PDR, CDR, MRR, or TRR
• 2+ years of experience developing or evaluating software design documentation, interface documentation, technical reports, and integration procedures for operational use and future development
• Experience with integration tests, system-level tests, troubleshooting, and debugging to verify software functionality and system interoperability
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
• Ability to work proactively with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, cybersecurity, and operations, to gather requirements and ensure alignment with mission goals
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
Preferred:
• Experience with Java, Python, C#, C, C++, .NET, JavaScript, React, NodeJS, PHP, or Drupal
• Knowledge of software development standards such as DO-178C
• Ability to acquire client requirements and resolve workflow problems through automation optimization
• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
• Top Secret clearance
