Position Purpose Summary:

 

BlueLinx Corporation is looking for an Engineered Lumber Field Technical Representative in the Gulf Coast District of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi & Louisiana to include the following duties:

  • Brand Specific Market Demand Creation through pull through efforts with Contractors, Engineers, Architects, Developers and Lumber Dealers
  • Handle Bidding, Takeoffs, Pricing and Positioning of Engineered Lumber
  • Manager process of Presenting, Overcoming Objections, Creating Value and Closing the Sale
  • Specify Engineered Lumber Plans, Specify Technical Data, Qualify Customers and End User Needs
  • Conduct Software & Product Training
  • Create Design Illustrations based from blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrications
  • Evaluate designs to ensure standards are met
  • Support Sales, Customers & End Users with technical issues
Job Description

Preferred Knowledge/Experience:

  • Sales or Distribution Experience with Engineered Lumber or Truss Design
  • Residential Construction and Framing experience
  • Product selection, product information, and pricing experience
  • Handle Inventory and pricing questions for customers and sales
  • Working knowledge of assigned product line, customer support/service, market analysis, sales forecasting, products, pricing, and inventory management
  • Well-developed consultative selling skills, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate prices, provide market updates, prospects, evaluating current and potential sales
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant sales systems technology
  • Ability to analyze, trouble shoot and solve problems
  • Adept at reading Architectural Plans and Structural Plans and Load Development Skills
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience with BS/BA or equivalent industry experience preferred
