In the United States, entry-level web developers typically earn between $50,000 and $65,000 annually, while those with several years of experience can make $75,000 to $120,000 or more. Web developers working in major tech hubs or with in-demand skills, such as JavaScript frameworks or full-stack development, often command higher salaries. Freelance and remote opportunities can also influence earning potential.

What factors can influence salary progression for web developers within a company?

Salary progression for web developers is often influenced by a combination of technical expertise, years of experience, and contributions to major projects. Demonstrating proficiency in in-demand technologies, taking on leadership roles, and successfully delivering complex web applications can make you eligible for raises or promotions. Many organizations also offer clear career paths, allowing web developers to advance to senior, lead, or specialized positions, which typically come with higher salaries. Regular performance reviews and upskilling through certifications can further enhance salary growth opportunities.
