Job Description

The IT Specialist Application Programmer is responsible for the successful delivery of information engineering, requirement definition, software design and enhancements, development, scripting functions, and maintenance to include adherence with configuration management processes, and testing and evaluations process support. 

The successful candidate will assist with:

  • Analysis of functional business/technical application design specs for functional activities;
  • Preparation of technical documents;
  • Troubleshooting;
  • Other maintenance tasks related to the sustainment of production systems.

In addition, the IT Specialist Application Programmer will be required to:

  • Perform technical analysis;
  • Debug and fix interface issues;
  • Assist with planning and coordination of all activities relating to requirements gathering, design, development, and implementation of client information systems and software applications.
Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred with two (2) years of related experience; but will accept six (6) years' direct experience with information system programming with no degree;
    At minimum, the candidate will be responsible for programming in Visual Basic.NET, C#, ASP.NET, ASP, JavaScript, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Reporting Services, Adobe LiveCycle, Microsoft SQL, and "mobile applications" for Android and/or iOS as well as web site maintenance using ASP/ASP.NET, and/or Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (MOSS);
    Must obtain and maintain certification(s) for IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+, or SSCP) in compliance with DoD Directive 8570.1-M.  Required to have IA certification category and level documented in the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System;
    Familiarity with DoN and DoD IA Policy 8570.1-M is and willing to participate in IA awareness training;
    Ability to obtain and maintain required certification(s) for IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+, or SSCP) in compliance with DoD Directive 8570.1-M;
    Must be team-oriented and willing to work on a mixed team with Government and/or other Contractor employees to enhance or support maintenance tasks related to sustainment of production systems;
    Ability to pass and maintain a government background check;
    Knowledge of Command Integrated Recruiting Information Management Systems (CIRIMS) is a plus.
