Application Developer (Mendix/Avaya)

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly 10+ Years specialized Mendix Application Developer to drive the convergence of rapid application development frameworks and global communication infrastructure. This is a mission-critical, hybrid engineering position where you will bridge the gap between low-code agility and the robust, real-time demands of legacy and modern telephony.

In this role, you will be responsible for engineering high-performance, user-centric applications on the Mendix platform that interface directly with Avaya Unified Communications (UC) and Contact Center (CC) ecosystems. Your solutions will empower agents and enterprise stakeholders through custom communication dashboards, complex automated workflows, and seamless omnichannel experiences.

Mandatory Skills:

Avaya Infrastructure Expertise: Deep, hands-on mastery of the Avaya product suite, including Aura, CMS, and Communication Manager Elite.

Mendix Platform Development: Expert-level command of Mendix Studio Pro, including rapid application construction, complex Microflow/Nanoflow logic execution, and advanced Domain Model optimization.

API Integration & Gateway Tooling: Comprehensive mastery of REST and SOAP APIs, specifically utilizing MuleSoft or Apigee for bridging web services with underlying legacy telephony hardware.

Cloud Architecture & DevOps: Practical experience deploying and managing Mendix infrastructure within AWS or Azure cloud environments using Terraform for containerized deployment automation.

Custom Extensibility (Java Actions): Proven ability to author custom Java Actions within the Mendix environment to interface with specialized Avaya SDK requirements or unsupported protocols.

Telephony & Network Protocols: Advanced, working knowledge of VoIP systems and SIP signalling protocols.

Core Responsibilities:

Define, design, and implement robust application structures within Mendix Studio Pro to streamline agent workflows and call-center productivity.

Write custom extensions and native integration code to ensure flawless real-time data exchange between the web tier and legacy telephony stacks.

Build custom UI widgets using React/TS to give contact center agents a cohesive, intuitive dashboard for handling omnichannel communications.

Maintain, test, and tune high-throughput APIs through API gateways to guarantee low latency during high-volume telephony event processing.

Collaborate closely with network, cloud infrastructure, and telecom teams to maintain secure, stable multi-cloud application deployments.
