STUDENT GRAPHIC DESIGNER - FALL 2026
Hiring Area: Communications and Marketing
Supervisor: Graphic Designer
Compensation: 15 hours per week assignment at $12.50 hourly rate.
Length of appointment: Academic long semester with option to renew if mutually
agreed by student and supervisor.
Open to both work-study and non-work-study.
Purpose
Student Graphic Designer assists the communications team with digital and print design for web, social, print collateral and promotional items for Student Life and all the units within. Student Graphic Designer works in a fast-paced and changing environment and manage a variety of projects while gaining valuable experience and creating work to add to their portfolios.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage design projects assigned by the Comms Team through completion (ready to post or packaged to print)
• Maintain University brand standards and individual consistency for different audiences, units and projects
• Respond appropriately to design feedback, offer suggestions and find solutions for functional design
QUALIFICATIONS
• Design experience with a portfolio of work
• Full or part-time undergraduate student currently enrolled in a degree program in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field (or have a strong interest in these areas)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, receptiveness to feedback and the ability to produce results with limited supervision
Onsite at SSB during normal hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm)
