As a Senior Web Designer at FareHarbor, you will play a critical strategic role in shaping the design, structure, and user experience of websites built for enterprise-level clients across the tourism industry. You will collaborate closely with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and Project Managers across our global offices in Denver, Amsterdam, and Sydney to architect web solutions that balance business objectives, technical feasibility, and user-centered design principles.
In this role, you will translate complex product and client requirements into scalable website architectures, develop high-fidelity design systems, and influence product roadmaps through expert evaluation of UX patterns and front-end capabilities. Senior Web Designers at FareHarbor are expected to exercise strong design judgment, independently own large-scale or technically complex website initiatives, and provide expert-level guidance to internal stakeholders when evaluating feasibility, defining solutions, and mitigating design risks. You will also play an important role in elevating the design culture at FareHarbor by mentoring junior designers, improving cross-functional processes, and introducing advanced methodologies that enhance our design and build approach.
Portfolio Requirement:
Please include a portfolio showcasing your strongest website design work, illustrating both visual design craft and UX problem-solving.
What you'll do here:
  • Lead the end-to-end product design process for complex website initiatives - from discovery and requirements gathering through design, testing, and implementation - ensuring alignment with client goals, user needs, and technical feasibility.
  • Design and build high-quality, conversion-focused websites using WordPress, Figma, and additional web tools as needed, delivering visually compelling and strategically structured experiences that promote FareHarbor website best practices.
  • Apply advanced web optimization techniques to enhance discoverability, performance, and mobile responsiveness, ensuring websites adhere to modern UX, SEO, and accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Engineers, and Project Managers to align on scope, resolve technical risks, and ensure seamless implementation.
  • Translate complex or abstract concepts into actionable design solutions, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate multiple technical approaches.
  • Leverage conversion-centered design methodologies to facilitate brainstorming, evaluate testing opportunities, and guide decision-making across stakeholders.
  • Contribute to FareHarbor's design community by refining team processes, sharing best practices, and mentoring junior designers on design philosophy, visual design craft, and technical execution.
  • Stay current with emerging web technologies and trends and actively apply new techniques that improve design quality, system efficiency, or user outcomes.
  • Create professional-grade design assets including mockups, wireframes, layouts, and graphics using Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, or comparable tools.
  • Integrate websites with FareHarbor software, ensuring smooth booking flow functionality and maintaining consistency across the FareHarbor ecosystem.
  • Oversee and implement custom CSS/HTML enhancements, supporting advanced design requirements and unique features across website projects.
  • Participate in client-facing meetings with Project Managers and Account Managers to understand project goals, gather inspiration, and present design rationale and solutions.

Requirements:
  • Working Hours: Schedule adjustments to support European team and client collaboration; regular overlap with European business hours required.
  • Travel: Up to 30% travel to service our highest valued clients in-person.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in digital marketing design, with a focus on B2B environments and SaaS platforms. 2-3 years of experience in web design, including working with graphic design software like Figma or Photoshop.

  • Technical Skills: Experience with HTML, CSS, and experience with UX/UI tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
  • Communication: Strong ability to articulate design decisions, strategies, and visions, and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong ability to influence peers and leaders across multiple functions without formal authority.
  • Time Management: Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.
  • Judgment: Must be able to work highly independently and demonstrate strong judgment on critical client work.
  • Forward Thinking: A proactive approach to staying current with industry trends and continuously improving design processes.
  • Project Management: Experience working in an Agile workflow environment and usage of Project Management systems like Airtable, Jira, Monday, etc.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision in both product and web design, with a focus on delivering user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working within teams and cross-departmentally, with a proven ability to mentor and guide junior designers.
