Regular feedback loops and iterative improvements are common, making flexibility and teamwork essential for project success.

To thrive as a Web Design Agency, you need a solid understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX), front-end development, and project management. Familiarity with industry-standard tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, WordPress, and knowledge of coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are highly valuable, along with relevant certifications in web design or UX/UI. Strong client communication, teamwork, creativity, and time management skills set successful agencies apart. These competencies ensure high-quality, user-focused web solutions delivered efficiently and collaboratively to meet client objectives.

Job description

Web Design Internship
Remote
If you're studying design and want to see how it actually works inside a real agency, not just in class projects, this is a good place to start!
The Mannix Marketing design intern will work directly with our Sr. Web Developer & Design Lead and contribute to live client work across a range of industries. You'll see how design decisions get made when brand standards, accessibility requirements, and client goals all have to coexist. And you'll leave with portfolio pieces built, not just observed.
What You'll Work On
  • Assisting with website design projects for regional and national clients
  • Supporting design consistency reviews across active projects
  • Learning how brand strategy, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2), and client goals shape design decisions
  • Contributing to creative assets, including graphics, layout mockups, and visual content
  • Getting exposure to WordPress-based project workflows
  • Helping maintain design standards, documentation, and asset libraries

Who We're Looking For
  • A design student (graphic design, web design, UX/UI, or similar) who's ready to apply what they're learning
  • Someone comfortable in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable tools
  • Genuinely curious about how design and development work together in a client services environment
  • Organized and self-directed - remote work requires both
  • No agency experience needed, but a portfolio or sample work is required to apply

Location: Fully remote. Open to students anywhere in the United States
Time Commitment: Flexible based on your school's internship requirements. We will work with your institution to meet credit requirements.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship intended for college credit or professional experience.
