Web Creators typically focus on designing and creating website visuals and layouts, often using design tools and basic coding. Web Developers, on the other hand, handle the technical coding and programming needed to build functional websites and applications. While both roles collaborate, Web Creators emphasize aesthetics and user experience, whereas Web Developers focus on functionality and backend processes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Web Creator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Web Creator, you need proficiency in web design, HTML/CSS coding, and an understanding of user experience principles, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio. Familiarity with content management systems (like WordPress), graphic design tools (such as Adobe Creative Suite), and web analytics platforms is typically required. Strong creativity, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication help deliver engaging, user-friendly websites and collaborate with clients or team members. These skills and qualities ensure the creation of visually appealing, functional, and accessible websites that meet client goals and industry standards.

What is a web creator?

A web creator is a professional who designs, builds, and manages websites. Their responsibilities often include creating website layouts, writing or editing content, implementing interactive features, and ensuring the site is user-friendly and accessible. Web creators may use various tools and technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems like WordPress or Wix. They often collaborate with clients or teams to meet specific business or creative goals for the website.

How do Web Creators typically balance creative design with technical functionality in their daily work?

Web Creators often collaborate closely with designers, developers, and clients to ensure both aesthetic appeal and functional performance of websites. A typical day might involve translating client vision into wireframes, selecting appropriate design tools, and working with front-end code to bring interactive elements to life. Balancing creativity with usability can be challenging, but regular communication with cross-functional teams and iterative feedback help ensure both aspects are addressed effectively. Staying updated on web standards and emerging technologies also enables Web Creators to deliver sites that are both visually engaging and technically robust.

Is AI replacing web design?

Web creators use AI tools to assist with tasks like generating content, optimizing layouts, and testing designs, but AI does not fully replace the need for human creativity, user experience understanding, and technical skills. AI can enhance efficiency and support the design process, but human oversight remains essential for quality and originality in web development.

Are you a digital native who lives at the intersection of culture, content, and commerce? We are seeking a dynamic, insight-driven Senior Manager, Creator & Social Commerce to join our Communications Team.

In this high-impact role, you will be the bridge between community conversation and digital revenue. You won't just be managing a strategy from afar; you will be hands-on, building an engine of creator content including but not limited to User-Generated Content, scaling affiliate marketing presence (including running TikTok Shop), and partnering directly with bottom funnel creators to drive key digital commerce sales tentpoles. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love turning real-time social trends into high-converting content, and know exactly how to feed organic creative into a paid media funnel, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own creator content that uses social to drive direct commerce. Translate brand goals into a highly tactical, conversion-driven influencer and affiliate strategy—including the management and scaling of TikTok Shop.
  • Work successfully across in-house teams—specifically partnering with the Communications and Brand PR teams (who own campaigns and day to day brand communication strategy) -  for full integration of communications plans. Champion the consumer journey by identifying creative tactics that seamlessly turn social discovery into a measurable e-commerce outcome.
  • Lead creative process for commerce-driven content—from capturing original, hands-on footage with creators to final editing. Ensure all assets are optimized to incentivize community participation including a YGC content engine.
  • Collaborate closely with Digital Media Buyers, media planners, and traders for plan inputs. Ensure that all organic, influencer, and UGC assets are fully integrated into paid media funnels and optimized to drive digital demand, maximizing the ROI of media spend.
  • Leverage listening tools, data, market understanding, and a relentless focus on the consumer to actively monitor social trends. Convert real-time insights and conversations into native, platform-ready content designed to shorten the path to purchase.
  • Design and execute a continuous learning plan. Support ongoing scenario planning by piloting new creative formats, affiliate tactics, and creator-led data strategies to continuously optimize bottom-funnel performance.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–8 years of experience in social media strategy, content creation, or influencer marketing, preferably within a startup, high-growth digital business, or forward-thinking agency.

  • Proven, hands-on experience managing affiliate marketing programs and social commerce integrations. Direct experience managing and scaling TikTok Shop is highly preferred.

  • A strong track record of working directly with influencers and deploying successful tactics to generate high-converting UGC.

  • Deep understanding of how social content and influencer partnerships integrate with paid media funnels to drive digital sales and e-commerce outcomes.

  • Proficiency in mobile-first editing and production tools coupled with the ability to utilize social data and web analytics to measure success.

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams, manage external agency/creator partners, and operate comfortably within ambiguity to challenge creative norms.

  • A relentless drive to seek new ways of engaging consumers and a core belief that "more is possible" through innovative digital content.
