Web Applications Programmer

Location: Tallahassee, FL (Hybrid- Florida-based candidates encouraged to apply)
Job Type: Contract

Defined Software Development is seeking an experienced Web Applications Programmer for a contract consulting opportunity supporting the development, enhancement, testing, and implementation of web-based applications and business solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, MVC, JavaScript frameworks, SQL, and web application development, along with a proven ability to work with technical teams, project managers, business analysts, and multiple stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, test, and support web applications and business solutions.
  • Translate project requirements and goals into technical deliverables.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and Project Managers to support project activities and deliverables.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including requirements, specifications, designs, traceability documentation, and testing materials.
  • Test custom applications, reports, dashboards, and large data sets.
  • Participate in application development and implementation activities.
  • Communicate project progress, accomplishments, and technical information to project stakeholders.
  • Assist with project, technical, and training materials.
  • Follow established technical direction, infrastructure standards, and software development standards.
  • Identify obstacles to solution plans and assist with developing and implementing appropriate solutions or contingency plans.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technical resources to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls with project stakeholders.
  • Research emerging technologies and evaluate their potential application to project needs.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience developing web applications
  • 7+ years of experience with .NET architecture
  • 7+ years of experience with C#
  • 7+ years of experience producing technical documentation related to requirements, specifications, designs, traceability, or testing
  • 7+ years of experience testing custom applications, reports, large data sets, or dashboards
  • 3+ years of experience with MVC (Model-View-Controller)
  • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript frameworks, such as React or AngularJS
  • 4+ years of experience with PL/SQL or T-SQL preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with HTML5 preferred
  • Experience working on large-scale implementation projects
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience working with developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups with diverse and competing needs
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting state government projects
  • Experience in education or early learning environments
  • Experience working with complex enterprise applications and large-scale implementations
