Job Description

ProSidian Consulting is seeking a talented and motivated software engineer with interest and experience in design and implementation of web application architectures.  The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in the design and architecture of enterprise web applications, possess good communication skills, and enjoy problem solving both independently and in team settings.  This position will assume responsibility for the relationship between ProSidian Consulting and its federal government clients who seek to develop a database-backed web application as part of ProSidian Consulting’s IT Effectiveness and Business Process Solutions.  

This position is a contract position.  All work shall be performed at the contractor's site, with the possibility of client meetings at the client site.

Qualifications

The candidate will work within a Software Engineering team and be expected to:

Requirements:

  • Participate in full life-cycle software application development.
  • Design/redesign user interfaces and linkages to back-end APIs
  • Write code to meet the compliance standards of the ADA requirements for web accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Coordinate with back-end database developers on development, testing, and maintenance
  • Execute developmental software testing and quality assurance tasks.
  • Support, maintain and document software functionality.
  • Participate in software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

  • BS/MS in CS with 5+ years’ experience in web application design and architecture
  • Experience planning, programming, testing, and maintaining web-based applications
  • Strong understanding of information security
  • Experience with one or more web application frameworks
  • Strong Java coding skills and experience with Java EE platforms (Jboss, Glassfish, etc)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new things

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Experience with Spring and dependency injection
  • Javascript, CSS, and/or HTML5 experience
  • Experience with techniques such as high-availability clustering, dynamic scaling and load-balancing
  • Experience implementing web application systems for the federal government
  • Experience ADA requirements for web accessibility
  • Experience with Amazon AWS, Elastic Beanstalk, etc.
  • Experience in SQL database-backed system design and architecture
  • Familiarity with entity relationships, referential integrity, and cardinality concepts are desirable.
