Job description

Summary: The Weatherization Installer Apprentice participates in a paid, structured training program designed to develop the skills required for a career in residential weatherization. The program includes approximately 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 146 hours of classroom instruction. Upon successful completion, apprentices advance to the role of Weatherization Installer and are eligible for increased compensation.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Pay rate: $16/hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Complete all required on-the-job and classroom training hours.
  2. Install energy efficiency measures in residential homes, including insulation, air sealing, ventilation systems, and safety devices.
  3. Perform diagnostic testing such as blower door testing.
  4. Assist with installation and servicing of furnaces and water heaters.
  5. Install insulation, vapor barriers, and related materials.
  6. Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  7. Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
  8. Complete documentation and maintain inventory.
  9. Attend required trainings and pursue certification.

Skills/Abilities:
  1. Strong communication skills.
  2. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or on a team.
  3. Willingness to learn tools and techniques.

Education/Experience:
